Since it happened again, I am interested in what people think of the plan to bridge Northwest Highway across White Rock Creek. I do not have statistics to know how often the street is closed by high water, but is seems a real waste of money to me and not attractive. With an easy alternate route (Mockingbird)on the rare times Northwest Highway floods, why bother?

On the face of it, I would agree with you Lee - why bother? While the money comes from different pots, I'd much rather see White Rock dam's retaining wall repaired. What reason is there for an elevated (and therefore visually dividing) Northwest Highway. Might it not just create an overpass with an underside that invites graffiti and litter?
