Free wi fi spots in East Dallas

Wifizone

The May 2008 Advocate cover story was all about free stuff and we listed several spots that offer free wireless Internet connection (surprisingly less places than I expected but at least we can always count on Starbucks). Since the mag came out I came across two great neighborhood spots that didn't make the list in print — Fat Daddy's Burger House, 9540 Garland Rd, and Green Spot Market and Fuel (while it looks like merely a gas station, Green Spot has a little sit-down section for healthy, enviro-friendly snacking/ socializing/ surfing). Look to June's issue for a little more about Green Spot and its owners. If you know of free wi fi we missed on our list, let us know — were always on the lookout for more free stuff!

There's a project in the DFW area called DFWFreeNet that is working to set up free WiFi spots across the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. If you're a business owner interested in offering free WiFi, already offer free WiFi but would like to join a larger initiative to gain exposure, or an individual wanting to give back to your community, you should see how you can help at www.dfwfreenet.org
