I don't know if it is at all related to these new smart meters but I've seen billboards for DirectTV selling broadband over power lines.


One thing that has always bothered me about utilties in general is that to me, it works just the opposite as it should. It gives price breaks to those who use more. I believe that ESPECIALLY with energy (but taxes as well), those who consume more should always pay more.

I can't think of a single business or entity that charges a higher unit cost to their customers who buy the most, except for Federal income taxes.

This is exactly why the house my wife and I will build is going to have solar panels or tiles. It's time to opt out of this madness.
