Get ready for more lawn watering restrictions. The Texas House, in a not so surprising fit of anti-Dallas pique, has killed plans the city has to build reservoirs in East Texas.
One reason? The flagrant way we waste water. Dallas residents use more water than anyone else in the state, and by a substantial margin. "It's really difficult for people in my area of the state to understand why we need to flood our property in order for another region to continue to be wasteful," said Rep. Stephen Frost, D-Atlanta.
With all the rain we've had this spring, there's no reason to water regularily (I've got monkey grass the size of small trees right now!) Yet we still have people in this neighborhood that continue to water, even when it's raining. That just defies common sense.
