Kert Platner over at X10 emailed me back. Snow Pea's lease runs through May 2009. After that he and his partners will take over the space and "get a restaurateur in there to do something great for the neighborhood." Platner says he already has someone lined up but for now he's keeping any specifics under wraps. Too bad ... I'm dying to know, and I bet a bunch of other neighborhood folks will be too. But I guess in 20 months a lot could go awry.
Sad.
I like the Snow Pea. One of the best values for lunch around.
Will probably eat there this Sunday.
I wish we had more places like the Snow Pea instead of all the frilly upscale stuff.

That assumes that the Snow Pea doesn't reopen someplace else. If not, I agree with ceemac. Snow Pea is a reliable neighborhood restaurant of very long standing. We eat there occasionally, do take out often. To lose it would diminish the neighborhood.

20 months is a pretty long-range plan for that type of buisness. Good luck!
(Sorry - I'm a naysayer on Snow Pea. Really didn't like the food.)
