Your tax dollars have been hard at work, courtesy of the of the North Texas Tollway Authority, to show us just how wonderful the Trinity toll road will be. Best yet, there is even a disclaimer saying that the simulation may very well not bear any relationship to reality: "This visual aid was created for illustrative purposes only. ..."
My favorite part of the 3:13 video? That there is more foot traffic on the pedestrian bridge over the toll road than there are cars on the toll road. And, unless I missed something, I didn't see any toll booths.
They lied with pretty pictures in 1998 (lakes and sailboats) to get their toll road, and they're lying now (trees and landscaping that the Corps won't allow) to get their toll road.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm voting YES to move the toll road out of the floodway and park.

I'll bet NTTA would will go with toll booth-free roads since they are planning on doing away with cash booths by 2010 anyway. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westpark_Tollway for a possible model of an electronic-only tollway.

At the next debate in your neighborhood, somebody please ask HOW MUCH is the cost of the pro-tollroad groups favored alignment? The answer is: they don't know, since the corps can tear up the road whenever they want since it's in the levee.
It would be glad for them to answer that question for once.
I don't think there ae any booths b/c there are no downtown exit/entrances. You pay at either end of the road and that's that.
