In what will likely be our final DISD update before teachers face the knife beginning tomorrow, the DMN reports that DISD's board decided to give Supt. Michael Hinojosa an "unscheduled review" of his job performance in light of the district's budget problems. A three-member subcommittee — Lew Blackburn, Leigh Ann Ellis and Edwin Flores — will meet Thursday in closed session to draft Hinojosa's interim performance review. School board chairman Jack Lowe says Hinojosa will not lose his job as part of the review. And the question is still out there for those who want Hinojosa gone: Who would you replace him with?
For starters, what business would keep a CEO who failed to notice that an $84 million budget deficit was accruing, much less one who failed to inform his Board of the fact in a timely manner.
Second, past searches have yielded many folks willing to take on the challenge of the DISD Superintendency. Maybe the Brownsville Supt might be willing to take the job--after all, it pays well.

I don't get it. Why is this guy still around? he's been fired from every job he's had! Glad I don't have kids.

Bob, past searches have yielded all of the superintendents who were fired or forced out here, too. Is the Brownsville person good or are you just throwing that out there because he/she would be paid more in Dallas? And Jennifer, as far as I know, you are incorrect in saying that Hinojosa has been fired from every job he has had.
