Can’t Think Straight?
Maybe you shouldn’t. Instead, think in curves and zig zags and COLORS!
Oct. 25, 2008, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Art Thinker’s Day is a
special event that encourages kids of all ages to engage and explore
the world of contemporary art. Expand your artistic knowledge by
participating in hands-on activities in the galleries right alongside
the artwork itself at the Dallas Center for Contemporary Art.

portraits where kids can create a collage using self portraits (bring a
picture or have one taken). Dallas CCA is located at 2801 Swiss Ave.
The Biggest/ Longest/ Heaviest!
Surely I’m not the only one who
was totally obsessed with the Guinness Book of World Records when I was
a kid. Remember the World’s Fattest Man, Fat Albert? Or the guy with
the longest fingernails? Well, here’s your chance to witness
record-making absurdity.
Oct. 26, noon
Carnival Cruise Lines hosts the Record Breaking
Beach Ball Bash. The Carnival team will attempt to break the Guinness
Book of World records for the World’s Largest Inflatable Beach Ball.
At the event you can win one of five free cruises for a family of four
on a Carnival Fun Ship. The big beach ball blowing extravaganza — also
featuring live music, food, drinks and other merriment — happens at the
park at 1511 Elm Street at the corner of Elm and Akard. Call
972-341-2514 for more info.
